Description
Methi/Fenugreek is a leafy vegetable, which can be easily grown in pots or in backyards from seeds. Soil should be mixed with fine compost and sow the seeds directly in the pots/backyards. Soak seeds in normal water for 2 hours before sowing for quick germination. This can also eaten as micro greens. Sow the seeds not more than 1/2-inch depth. Keep soil moist but not soggy. Methi is one among the high nutritional leafy vegetable. We can use them directly into curries and also in dry powder form. Over watering will kill the plant. One can start harvesting fenugreek leaves after 4-5 weeks of sowing. This is a multi-cut variety, so instead of plucking the plant, cut the tips of the plants while using and it starts growing again & again.
Note: For best germination results, use all the seeds within 2 weeks after reaching you. Use fine mixture of Garden soil, Coco-peat and compost in 3:1:2 ratio. For more information check out how to sow seeds.
